By far, the easiest way to add images to your site is through the use of the SchoolCenter Image Gallery. Click the Add button, look for the button above, then follow the prompts.
However, if you choose to broaden your selection, the web is loaded with free graphics sites. Practice the procedure below - try it first with any image from this page, then use the Image Sources page from this site to find thousands more. With experience, you will find favorite sources and will soon be able to comfortably integrate visual flair into your work. |

Consider these questions as you add graphic elements to your pages:
• Who is my primary audience?
• Do my images support my message or simply decorate the page?
• Do my images distract visitors from my message?
• Are there so many images on a page that it takes a long time to load?
• Is there some design consistency throughout my site?
• Is my color scheme complementary and text easily read?
• What is my own experience of what constitutes an effective web site? |

Animated images like the small fellow at left or the arrows above have become very popular. They are easily found and can be an effective way to attract the eye or reinforce a point.
Reconsider the questions above when placing animations
(Project Yourself).
Many people choose to apply a page background to their web sites. Light textures, faded thematic imagery, or pastels are recommended. Avoid backgrounds that are too busy, too dark or too bright. To set a background, at your home page, choose Page Settings: Page Design: Background Image. |
